For my first post, I want to acknowledge that I am extremely privileged. I am able to take my time and search for my dream job. I am able to try one job and, if it's not the right one, leave that job. I am able to do things that don't pay, just to try something new or explore an opportunity. I can do this, because I have incredibly supportive family and friends who want this for me. I also have no student loans, mortgage, or kids to support. And I have a partner in life who believes in me and wants more for me than I would even dream possible. I understand that not everyone is this privileged.
This blog is really going to be about what I'm doing to figure out what my "dream job" is and then go out there, find it, and secure it - given that I have all the resources and support available to me and relatively few of the pressures and stresses that others may have.
That disclaimer out of the way, this blog is for anyone who is still trying to figure out what they want to do when they "grow up" - for recent college grads who don't know what to do with their degrees, for those realizing that their first real job isn't what they want it to be, for people who have spent any number of years in one career but are beginning to think another career might be a better fit... this blog is for anyone looking for their "dream job", whatever that may be...
